Agassi sidelined by back injury

Agassi was blitzed 6-1 in the fourth set by Federer
Veteran American Andre Agassi may be forced out of action for the remainder of the year because of back trouble.
The 35-year-old, beaten in four sets by Roger Federer in the US Open final, has withdrawn from the Stockholm Open, which runs from 10-16 October.

Agassi, beaten in last year's Stockholm final by Thomas Johansson, said: "I was looking forward to going further.

"My family enjoyed the stay last year and Stockholm is a very nice city to be in, it is a great shame."

I'm glad I didnt book a flight over for that.....

Is this the end for AA or will we see him play next season?

I think so...!
Go Andre :wavey: :worship:

I feel sad about that you can count out madrid for sure as well Paris is 4 weeks away so he might play there. I was wanting him to stay in the top 5 but that wont happen now he is not playing and I wanted him to go to marsters as well could be the last time but that wont happen if he dose not play. I hope it is just his back and he is not thinking of retiring

Don't worry. Andre said on Tuesday in an interview he WILL play in 2006. Pulling out of Stockholm was more of a precaution not to wreck his back further. Your right, he will skip Madrid, but I am hopeful he will compete in Paris and Shanghai (should just about make it!)
