Wild cards are players whose world ranking is not high enough to qualify automatically for The Championships but who are accepted into the main Championships draw at the discretion of the Committee.
Wild cards are usually offered on the basis of past performance at Wimbledon or to increase British interest. Wild cards have been allocated since 1977 and from 2003 some singles wild cards have been determined by competition. The only wild card to win the Men's Singles title was Goran Ivanisevic in 2001. No wild card has won the Ladies' Singles title.

Hard to know who gets it from TA, as Kokkinakis should make it. Are they going to have to use it up on Lleyton, or will the English tennis association do that, as they never use up all of their own anyway.

edmund is the only one i can say for sure and ward should get in directly.

hewitt should be australia's because kokkinakis will be in directly

but thats it. id imagine that, as they have done in the past the winners of the 2 challengers on grass will get one in some way

maybe reach out to a youngster like rublev

they can choose not to hand them all out can they not?

Hewitt will get one, anyway. Edmund, Broady and Ward will do, too. After that, I think they will go to anybody that shows form on the grass.

Hardly wasted given that Wimbledon sometimes don't use all of their wild cards. I would imagine that Ward, Edmund and Broady will all get wild cards and maybe Corrie as well. Obviously Lleyton Hewitt will get one and that leaves three more, probably for the winners of the 3 grass court challengers (Manchester, Surbiton and Ilkley) if they need them.

This is what I think:

Since they changed the rules this year, Top 250 players don't automatically get a WC anymore. This gives them a great opportunity to slight Klein, something that I think they might do.

I think Mahut will get one given his history at Wimbledon and the fact that he's in the R3 of the French Open now as a WC.

The last two WCs will be decided on the basis of Manchester, Surbiton, Ilkley and ATP-level grass events.

James Ward as the 9th ALT. That should be too far to make it in.
