Yes Stan was on fire, but Fed allowed him that! It seemed Fed surrendered the minute he lost the TB.

1. Just losing a tiebreak that would have given him the title
2. Seeing Stan starting to impose himself
2. Stan's consistent power towards the end of the 2nd/early in the 3rd

Do you people really need to ask about every little thing when the answer is clear if you just watched the match?

So what losing the tiebreak? He was in similar situation vs Tsonga WTF 2011 final. But he was so hungry for the title and won a close third set.

What's worrying about Fed in 2014 is his record in finals. Just 1 out of 4! That's very very poor for a player in his caliber.

I think other than Hewitt final, he played really well in the other 2 but just couldn't win a few key points and ran into some hot opponents.

Losing the tie break hurt Fed's confidence, Fed level dropped, and Wawrinka had all the momentum, unfortunately for Fed Wawrinka was just too strong in the 3rd, everything was working well for him in that set, his level was very good, he didn't allow Fed to regroup.

I am worrying about this final at all. Federer knew it is a huge for Wawrinka to win a MS1000, It is a first one for him. Only top four players have won them for a long long time. Who knows when Wawrinka can win MS1000 again ? Del Potro still can not win one ! Wawrinka has lost his confidence after AO and have a big problems to win a match in DC ! Haas was very happy when won Halle2012 vs Federer , Leytton was happy as well and Wawrinka even more ! Federer has won a lot and if that would help Wawrinka for his career in future why not ?! How many MS 1000 do Federer or Nadal heed ? 40 or 50? We maybe are not going to see players as Federer or Nadal ever again !!! That was the golden era of this game 1

It's in the head. Very similar to the Nishikori match. Only that this time, on top of Fed losing the plot, Wawrinka started GOATing, hence the double break.

If Federer wanted to win this title he would have won it! He could lost to Tsonga who played very well even better than Wawrinka but Federer was very strong vs him. Wawrinka and Federer can play France for DC title so it is good to win vs French guys.
Tsonga served so well and played without mistakes in first two sets. Wawrinka had a lot more UE but Federer allowed him to win as Nadal did to Ferrer.

Do you think Tsonga or Del Potro have less power than Wawrinka has ? Watch some matches
with them playing vs Fed and you would see when Federer likes to win something he will do it .Maybe Nadal is the only one who Fed has a big problems! Big hitters are not a problem for Federer.Watch Dubai final this year vs Berdych who is a huge power hitter vs Federer on fast court where is more tough to win !

blah blah blah in his head, confidence. Federer was just tired. Look at his backhand and preparation to it in 1st set and in 3rd.

Fed is old, he can't keep his consistency up anymore for a long period of time. This will be more clear when summer's GS tournaments start. If I was Roger, I would start planning for the retirement, maybe Wimbledon 2015 could be a good place to end the career.

Fed's recurring problem of only being able to play well for about a set and a half. When he faces someone that can stay with him for that long, he usually loses.

This defeat was more outplaying from Wawa than Choking.

Seriously He just made 1 shank in TB and It was enough for Wawa.

Third set Wawa was better player, this loss was much worse for Federer than Nadal losses as he got outplayed.
