Rafa has won the French Open every single year that he has played there, bar once. He began playing in 2005, and has not skipped one. He has won every single one since except 2009. What happened in 2009, though? He won his lone Australian Open. Rafa did not win the Australian Open this year, so he has more chance of winning the French Open this year than he would have had he won it. The correlation is perfect; his record of winning the French Open in the same year as winning the Australian Open is 0, and his record of winning the Australian Open in the same year as not winning the French Open is 1. There is no in between. Also worth noting that this is based on no less than 10 years.
