Weak mentality and his goal is just to make a good living out of tennis and enjoy life, whilst not pushing himself too much. Flamboyant players nearly always have a weak mentality

Djokovic was coming back after an operation with very limited clay preparation for RG, also he was mentally really tentative in that match, as he really regained his clutchness and confidence only at Wimbledon that year.
Cecchinato maxed out his potential that year with a favorable draw, after that he won 2 minor clay titles, but recently even Monteiro defeated him in a clay Challenger final.
That's a big downfall and totally signifies his status now: a has-been who cannot even bring results on his favorite surface anymore...

It was in 2018 RG, Cecchinato defeated Djokovic. In 2016, many did not know this human even existed.
In 2015-16, he was fixing matches in Challengers, for which he got an 18 months ban originally.

He didn’t decline. He peaked in 2018 and then returned to his muggy self.
