I would like to go with my parents but my mom is a disabled person. I've been in Wimbledon , USO and Nottingham on my own, but i'm not sure if the experience could be complicated for my mother. any info /tips?
thanks :D

Re: Tips for disbled people

Alfonso, most of the courts have excellent accomodations for disabled persons. The website will explain the accessibility in terms of parking etc., I had to use it one year when on crutches, it was quite close. However, the remote parking (which is what the general public uses...) will prove to be quite inaccessible, as the shuttles over to the venue from parking are tour buses which (if i remember correctly...) are not ADA compliant. (you can call tourney to verify...) However, I was able to secure disabled parking by nothing more than displaying my temp disabled parking permit (if you bring medical verification with you when you rent an automobile, you should be able to get one, but again, verify that through your rental agent.)

If you have any other questions, dont hesitate to PM me....

very cool being a ball boy. I have a friend who also is a volunteer at the tournament.
I guess you mean by ..."do I want to play"....you mean tennis....I hope ;)
Thanks for the invite but I am a fan ...not a player.
Will you be on center court at all ? I have seats right next to the players entrance on center court.

cheers

There is a shuttle bus from Brickell station that runs all day. It drops you right at the gate. It is easily the best way to go. If you go in a private car you have to wait in line to get into the car park, pay a lot to park it and then take a shuttle bus to the tennis centre anyway.

So from the airport you can go to the nearest train station and then to Brickell. Check the maps of the various train routes on the Internet.

A taxi straight from the airport would be about $60 and then you have to get back to somewhere at the end of the day.

Too bad you can't stay until Monday. They put 5 men's matches on the number 2 court and after the crowds of Sat and Sun, it seems like heaven.
