Since 2010, Nadal beat Djokovic only once in a slam outside of Roland Garros. But that victory was precisely at the USO, that has been by far his best non-RG slam since he won it for the first time and completed the Career Grand Slam. Djokovic won it twice and reached many finals, but has a very poor record in them, losing against every member of the Big 5.

Who would win this year if they meet in the final? They haven't met in hard courts in a while, and split victories this year with Nadal winning on clay and Djokovic on grass.

Nadal has more chances to reaching the final than Djokovic and beating Djokovic in the final if they met, if both are at their best Djokovic would win but Djokovic is more inconsistent and more prone to chokes

First of all, No1e is 13-2 against Nadal away from clay since 2011. He's also 7-7 against Nadal on clay since Madrid 2009.

Nadal stopped having an advantage even on clay against No1e since a long time ago, and would have to go back 5 years to find that ultra rare, elusive win away from clay.

In-form No1e who doesn't choke will always beat Nadal away from clay and that's a fact. Nadal would need a really easy draw while also hoping No1e would be tired and/or plays one of his worst matches to have any chance of winning.

It's simple. It really depends a lot on how much Zverev/Cilic/Federer tire Djokovic out before the final. If they do tire him significantly, it's hard for him to beat a rested Nadal in the final. If Djokovic beats them without much trouble, then I feel confident Novak beats him in the final.

Nadal got an easy draw so it's hard to see him get tested before the final. Maybe a peaking Delpo could do it but Delpo making the SF is far from given.

Nadal because Djokovic will choke mentally this time thinking he is the favourite and it won't be pretty for Novak

Djokovic has no way of countering Nadal's forehand-down-the-line.
That's why Nadal beat Djokovic at 2010 and 2013 US Open Finals.
Nadal's confidence was low in 2011 so he didn't go for the forehand-down-the-line on big points, making it easy for Djokovic to control everything.
Its all on Nadal's racquet because he's got the greatest forehand in baseline history.

When No1e hits deep and hard and hits his BHDTL and moves Nadal from side to side, Nadal is useless vs No1e. He can't do anything about it. Nadal's FHDTL only works when No1e hits the ball short and has nothing on his shots, meaning when his forehand and backhand are off.

I wonder why is it that you can only point to that 2013 USO match? No1e can point to 13 other matches away from clay since 2011 where he beat Nadal.

It must suck that you have to go back 5 years to find that ultra rare, elusive win away from clay.

when Nadal declines on clay he also declines on hard. Nadal lost on clay in 2007 and people already calling him he is done on clay.

Do you ever write anything that makes sense or isn't :weirdo: ?
i mean, Djokovic's wins over Nadal on clay since 2007 is not impressive than winning against him in 2005 or 2006. if Djokovic has beaten Nadal on clay in 2006, i called him BOAT GOAT .
(sorry for English)

this is for all the marbles for the clay warrior:

1. it is about his legacy

2. it is about his immortality

3. it is about setting the record straight

4. it is about shutting down Djokovic once and for all

5. it is about revenge: he has a score to settle
