It's been a tradition for the past AO to have surprise semi finalists and finalists: baghdatis, gonzalez, tsonga, verdasco, cilic, to a lesser extent dolgopolov last year.

So which outsider do you see make a deep run this year?

Dolgo didn't reach the semi final stage.
yeah that's what I meant by "to a lesser extent", probably wasn't very clear

Either Del Po or Tsonga.
why not but that wouldn't be that much of a surprise, at least compared to the other years

well it sure as hell won't be tomic so if he has to go before the semis, it will be by the hands of del potro

Last year it was Ferrer not dolgopolov ...

I think David Ferrer could be a surprise semi-finalist in the top half of the draw, Tomáš Berdych in the bottom half.
Anyone else would either not be a surprise (Tsonga beating Murray or Del Potro beating Roger Federer), or extremely doubtful to get to the semis. I wouldn't bet on those surprises though. There is probably a better chance of either the top 4 or Tsonga, Del Potro getting in.

Respectfully,

Ferrer is playing up and down, I like Tsonga's chances more. I don't see anybody beating Novak or Nadal, aside from each other. Fed and Murray have been tested already. Better opponents or their game is not at the top.

Who are the five who voted Gasquet??
Does anyone seriously believe he is going to beat Ferrer and Djoko??:eek:
I'd be already surprised if he took one set from Ferrer (considering their previous matches), let alone beat him and Djoker after that.
