I believe they were some quite underrated american players that on their respective peaks could give a run for their money to anyone on the tour..

Ginepri in 2005 almost beat Peak Federer in Cincy and was in ridiculous form that summer.

Spadea also beat Federer on grass, although young.

close call but if I have to choose if would be Spadea. However, there is some hope for MTF. I'm glad the OP mentioned Ginepri and Spadea. 7 replies so far ... shocking

5-4 overall H2H in favour of Spadea. H2H is the be all and end all, therefore, Spadea is the better everything, including looks and personality.

Spadea also has wins over lot of slam winners..

Spadea has beaten Sampras, Agassi,Fed, Nadal, Roddick, Rafter, Krajicek,Kafelnikov, Courier, Chang, Safin and Kuerten.

Spadea is the best personality ever but Ginepri got pretty close to a slam win. Gotta go with Gineprick over GOAT rapper. This thread brings back memories though :angel:
