Again, forget the rankings. Only technical/tactical aspects of the game.

They're pretty close in 2014:
- Berdych around 3000 points and Dimitrov around 2700 in the race.
- Berdych 35-11, Dimitrov 35-10 (W-L).
- Berdych with 1 title, Dimitrov with 3 (both with 1 ATP 500).
- Berdych with slam SF and QF, just like Dimitrov.
- Both with one M1000 SF.

Pretty even if you consider serve/forehand/backhand/return.

I'd say Dimitrov got the edge cause of his superior defense, net play and amazing touch.

Thoughts?

Dimitrov has a lot more variety to his game and is the better player right now. I'm surprised Berdych has stagnated as much as he has. A couple of years ago, he looked like he was going to threaten the big 3 but he seems happy to be a top 10 player. Dimitrov on the other hand, looks hungry for success.

Dimitrov has hit some good form recently. But this is Berdych. Apart from the Big 4 he has consistently been one of the two players RIGHT behind them, with Ferrer.

Overall it's Berdych and always will be unless Dimitrov makes some massive strides during the rest of the year. I think he can but I'd put money on Berdych still ending above him in the rankings by a margin.

Berdych. His win in Rotterdam was much more convincing than Dimitrov's titles in Acapulco and Queen's.

On the other hand, Berdych has been breadsticked by Berlocq this year...

Dimitrov quite easily, Birdie has been looking so average lately.
