I play quite a bit in spring / summer . I played once or twice at 16 then started again in my early 20s . 34 now and still play had some coaching about 4 or 5 years ago that brought my game on a lot .

still lots of little problems in my game like my ball toss for my serve . Played in a local tennis league in my town recently and won it winning 6 matches in straights and lost one in straights 7-6 ( 9-7) 6-2 against a 19 year old .

I feel my games’s good but I still need too work on some things. Having a good slice under pressure needs work and hitting more crops court with the forehand as I’m quite a unorthodox lefty too say the least .

Managed too get a defensive forehand slice too bounce on my opponents side and spin back over too mine before ?

I play with friends and work friends weekly when the weather is good. Love it. Got into the sport when I was 23 when Federer first won Wimbledon and, I haven't looked back.

I’ve played on and off for more than a decade but only started more regularly playing last year or so. Try to play once, sometimes twice a week if possible

I suck, but I’m a lot better now than a year ago. That’s part of why I love it, the clear room for improvement. Compared to eg basketball where I know for a fact I am past my peak, so it’s not as compelling to play anymore

I rarely hit topspin bh, either run around or slice it, that’s one of my main (and many) flaws. But i absolutely love playing

Used to be a tennis coach
Been playing since about 8yrs old
Played tournaments in my early 20s including overseas for a very brief period
Now play every fortnight with friends, fill in competition as an emergency for friends
Single handed backhanded
Strengths: aggressive playing style, backhand, court speed
Weakness: fh volley, smash, moving back

Greatest sport ever

Trains mind...legs...arms..characther.
Only need 1 other person.
Countless facilities.
Play till your in 80s.

No contest

unless you're like me and bail in mid to late 50's. now mid 60s

they tried to rate me 4.0 but i got them to let me play at 3.5

very flat first serve since 6'2"
second serve was ugly

i remember the thud when my first serve hit my partner in the ear

i remember choking in third set breaker in doubles when chumped second serve return into net.

also remember winning 6 and 6 vs two brothers where nobody lost serve all match.

started at singles then mens doubles then played more and mixed. got away with more and more junk so ruined my game. at parties could play against ex college players who were very out of practice

would chip and charge a lot. amazing how many errors that would cause opponents,

wouldn't even attempt to play now at this age and covid survivor a year ago march.

This year it's been One or Two league matches a week. A weekly team practice. And a weekly clinic with local pros. And sprinkled randomly the singles ladder matches.

I'm 13-15 in league play.
And 9-13 in the local ladder.

?

Used to play before tearing my rotator cuff at work. Had a (very, very low) British ranking for a few years.
Played badminton as well.
Haven't played either in over ten years +, not sure if I would do well now.

I had a poor serve and forward movement, an average forehand, a better backhand and volleys.

There were loads of amateur players who posted here years ago and a few who played on the lower rungs of professional or in national/international competitions.
