It's between prime Federer and Nadal, although JMDP is great too (those running forehand monsters in the 09 USO final).

However, the most fun to watch was probably Fernando Gonzalez during his peak. Simply crazy power.

“Best” is pretty subjective. Fastest, lowest net-clearance, from least auspicious court position, greatest applause, consistency? Something else? A combination of things?

You are lucky there aren't good reps any more, or else you would be drowning in them
Or bad reps for daring to go against Federer's, who I thought was behind both JuanMa's and Nadal's. ?

FedaI has notoriety mainly due to their prolonged exposure but if we’re talking current era, prime Delpo. For NxtGn, i’m thinking MBerretini who can similarly blow opponents off court for instant winners when he’s in proper position.

Definitely Federer, just look at his highlights of that shot, absolutely insane what he could do with that shot. Nadal’s was the best on clay but was actually a weakness on other surfaces against people who could take his time away such as Djokovic as he needs time to hit his forehand and starts mishitting and hitting it short when his time is taken away. Del Potros might be big but doesn’t have near the variety of Federer so it definitely isn’t him.

It's gotta be Fed at his peak: for many reasons - effectiveness, variety, explosiveness, technique. Now his FH is a shadow of what it used to be.

Nadal's FH was effective but too one-dimensional, played 90% of time with heavy spin to the BH while Del Potro's FH is just bashy.

Other honourable mentions would be: Gonzales and Lendl.

PIease, i guarantee u DeIpo's FH winner % is as high as anybody's & had he stayed as heaIthy as big 4 or 5 or anyone, couId have been even higher. Remember, aesthetics/styIe points r for baIIerinas & pIaying for FH winners trumps that. When heaIthy, he can rifIe the FH from anywhere on the court for outright winners but def. not a 'basher' in the moId of a Thiem type pIayer but empIoys it tacticaIIy for winners. AIso hoping ItaIian StaIIion MB wiII become a heaIthier version of DeIpo.
