Who did you think it would be to have the breakout performance this year?
For me, Gulbis:worship:
For me, Gulbis:worship:
jesus you didn't even wait for the POLL to respond:worship:All those threads on me man TSONGA seem to prove wat i always knew all along: he'll b crowned AO CHAMPION this year
Gulbis won't do anything significant until he grows a tennis brain...mindless ball-bashing is very unlikely to net him 5-7 straight wins in a major event. For me, Gulbis:worship:
tell that to Marat SafinGulbis won't do anything significant until he grows a tennis brain...mindless ball-bashing is very unlikely to net him 5-7 straight wins in a major event.
In his glory days, Safin wasn't a mindless ball-basher. He knew something about point construction, which is a concept Gulbis knows nothing about.tell that to Marat Safin
he would END you
WTF is Isner doing there? :cuckoo:
Um, you started posting here 2 weeks ago. I think it would be unfair of us MTFers to proclaim that you always believed in him. But for the past week or so, except a momentary wobble before the Nadal match, you have certainly been his most ardent supporter.i always believed in jo, ASK ANYBODY HERE

I know exactly how Safin and Gulbis play...maybe you should refresh your memory, punk.if you don't watch tennis and therefore are only guessing at what certain players are or aren't, then please don't comment. At least if you do, admit that you are just guessing based on what you see from their results on paper.
no, you don't. And your Safin assessment was correct. I was referring to Gulbis, who i am CERTAIN you have never seen in person based on the comments, and I'd even guess that you've never even seen him on TV!!!I know exactly how Safin and Gulbis play...maybe you should refresh your memory, punk.
I saw him play at Queen's last year. How short-sighted, desperate and stupid do you have to be make assumptions like that, when you have no clue as to what X poster knows/doesn't know?no, you don't. i didn't say it was an assumption, I said it was a certaintyI saw him play at Queen's last year. How short-sighted, desperate and stupid do you have to be make assumptions like that, when you have no clue as to what X poster knows/doesn't know?
Your head is too far wedged up your arse crack.i didn't say it was an assumption, I said it was a certainty
I think the one that lacks the ability to analyse tennis is he who came up with that dreadful poll. Querrey and Gulbis have yet to make a real impact on Tour; Young isn't strong enough yet; Isner's ground game isn't good enough; Haase is too flakey (a little like Gulbis); Korolev has yet to beat anyone half-decent. Cilic and Monfils are the only two I'd take any real notice of.fine, I won't question that you saw him at Queen's, but either you lack the ability to analyze tennis, or he was not playing up to his physical and mental ability.

What I saw of Gulbis that day seems to have been reflected in practically every ATP event he has entered. If he is drawn against a remotely solid player, 9/10 times he is f*cked.
Like I said, I wouldn't have considered putting them in there...is it that hard for you to understand that?jesus you really are dumb.
Look, I'm no too enthused about anyone else in that poll other than Cilic and Gulbis and Tsonga, but WHAT OTHER YOUNG UP-AND-COMERS COULD YOU HAVE EVEN CONSIDERED putting in there other than the ones I had.
And Gulbis got to the fourth round of the third Grand Slam he ever played. Nobody else on there other than Tsonga and Cilic has done that. So shut up before you look any dumber.
