I decided to bump this up, because I am about to see how Nishikori is progressing in the junior ranks

:D I hope we will see some of these players in the top 120 of the ATP rankings, I want a good Japanese ATP male to support :)

yeah, at d moment japan is really lacking top players in atp. their highest ranked player is outside top 200...i feel korea is also lacking good up n comers, after hyung taik lee their nxt highest ranked player is like in d 300s.
so hopfully d juniors can make a good transition to pro tour on atp.

yes,

I believe that Go Soeda has the talent to be top 100, look at how he pushed Puerta in Vietnam and a good match in Tokyo but although I have never seen him play, I think maybe he chokes a bit

Actually, I have noticed that all these Japanese players, none of them are young they are normally in their late 20's. The only young one with success I can think of is Go Soeda who is 21

thats true, altho asians tends to b late bloomers so they miight surprise some ppl. ;) i hope japans new generation will become a force in mens tennis soon.

I have actually noticed that lots of Japanese sport stars have official websites:

Go Soeda, Takao Suzuki and womens tennis players Aiko Nakamura, Rika Fujiwara, Akiko Morigami, Shinobu Asagoe and Ai Sugiyama all have official websites

nvm thomas, havnt any chance to look for his site yet. my comp still not working...im borrowing my bros laptop to surf mtf...

btw i find more players in d same challenger as the japanese players i mention b4, i dont know them maybe u hav heard of them?

hijiri kaneko...he lost in 1st rd. 6-0 6-0 :eek:
hiroshi fukaumi...was a qualifier but also lost in 1st rd 6-1 6-1 :eek:

Motomura, Gouichi, Sugiyama, Norikazu both won 1st rd :)

was keeping progress on Kei Nishikori, got to the QFs in singles n beating no.4 seed on d way. still alive in doubles playing SF 2moro. good luck to him!

new asian hopes?
