When this Clay season started. He was in impressive form, taking Gonzo to the limit in Vina del Mar and losing mostly because of the crowd coming very close to win an ATP title. I was really impressed by his form, great strokes, great movement on clay and really smooth game. Now, he manages to lose First round of Houston to an almost Junior player and second round again against a non clay specialist. He is having a really mediocre season and I expected him to be one of the best surprises of the clay season. Anybody knows whats up, Is he injured or something?

i thought he would have a great clay season but it seems he is not playing as good as he did it in viña del mar. anyway he is young and have all the weapons to reach the top-70 soon.

he did 1 great tournament at Viña del Mar and people ask what is wrong with him after being beaten by a 15 year old us player:)spit:) and losing so many matches

:p here is your answer: nothing is wrong with him.. he just overachieved 1 tournament getting to SF and that's it.. he sucks bad.. that's it.. he'll be back to challenger circuit where he belongs in no time  dont expect much of him

:secret: moreover, there is not much merit in taking gonzalez to extreme these days :p

"he sucks" is the easiest answer, but obviously there isn't much analysis behind it, it's more of an emotional response :)

I rather agree that semi was a bit of overachieving regarding his career as a whole, but he's had some good challenger scores, and probably this is what he should be still playing. The dude is 22 y.o., so hesitations of shape are natural, he's gradually improving, and after making his tennis more complete and form more estabilished, he can be back on the main tour with successes similar to the one from Vina :)

Which I wish to him and his fans :)

Man, there are some profound thinkers in this Forum. If it weren't for some who make it interesting, this place would be a big pile of bull..

"He sucks" is what I would expect from a 7 year old to say. He doesnt Suck, the guy has shown some nice potential, he has in my view a very interesting game with powerful strokes, moves well and a smart serve. he is only 22 yers old. So there is plenty of ground for him to improve, I think he is going trhough a tough at time at the moment...

I would also expect a 7 year old to write "what's", but I guess we can't have anything, can we? :)

Language is to get your ideas across, I don't write here like if it was a formal thesis.

What good is it not to make any spelling mistakes, if you are a classic Troll ex-banned?

My point is that you go around calling people things without any remorse. Why don't you just lay it low mate? Don't call people names and stuff and nobody will say anything. You made a thread with a simple answer. If you want an essay about that no-one, write to Apemant and ask him. I'm sure he loves it.

From the little I've seen of him, he isn't the toughest guy out there, mentally speaking. He tends to get discouraged with surprising ease, just for the heck of using an eufemism.

His game is compact, smart and fluid, although he doesn't have any major weapons if he's in the mood he can outwit a large share of players IMO. And don't forget this is his first season playing the biggest tournaments, not every player can produce a good transition in the first try. He shall get better I'd think.
