If there truly is tennis August-November 2020, where do you see Rogie's ranking at come the start of 2021??

I think the greatest thing is that as 39/40 year old guy he can still easily be Top 20.

If 3-4 meets Rafa or Djokovic in SF in 2021 AO, if 5-8 QF, if 9-16 4th round, if 17-32 3rd round correct??

Current: 6630

frozen points

IW 600
Miami 1000
Halle 500
Wimbledon 1200
Plus AO 2020: 720

4020 insured

with Basel canceled: 500

4520

It remains to be seen what will be played
Cinci 90
US 360
Mad 180
Rom 180
RG 720
-1530

If the autumn is played, but I doubt in Asia .. with RG ends in October
Shanghai 180
Masters 400
-580

Which would make -1530-580
-2110

Overall
-2100 pts at worst

imo, 6 or 7 ranking (6 Tsitsipas 4905, 7 Zverev 3470 actually), depending on what the others would do.

In 2016, when he stopped his season after Wimb, he finished 16 and seed 17 at AO 17.

Even the low ranking won't be a problem for the 3rd best player ever. Another GS SFs (or even the F at W) are almost guaranteed for the Champ.

Has the ATP now clarified how they will proceed with the rankings? Otherwise it is impossible to estimate.

Yep
Pending further ATP information, I have considered that the frozen points of the tournaments not played do not change and that only the tournaments played would replace the 2019 points.

For the top 8-10, it doesn't change much, but with all the 250-500 canceled, it's something else for the guys behind in the ranking.

This autumn, already Tokyo and Basel canceled, probably Beijing (with RG finished at the beginning of October), don't know about Vienna.

imo, ATP wants to play maximum GS and MS to present an acceptable Masters...

If that is the case, I agree that Federer will most likely still be in the top 8 for AO.
Indeed I didn't know that when I posted my reply before, so he keeps the Wimbledon final points, could have been much worse for him after missing almost the entire season.

Top 8 means he could potentially say meet Rafa or Djokovic in the 2021 AO QF (assuming they're still the top 2 come the 2021 AO)!!

hum, seed 8 does not mean that he will have a top 8 level. As seed17 AO 2017 was not very significant.
But he is 4 years older.
We will especially have to see what will be his level of play and that of the competition then in an overall situation unknown since WW2

He made the 2020 AO SF with the knee problem, so I think he's still towards the top of the game!!

3: he'll qualify for a protected ranking, as he'll have been off injured for over 6 months this time.

How's Djokovic managed to amass so many points already, given all the tournaments which have been cancelled?

Played 18 matches, won 18 matches.

Played 3 tournaments, won 3 titles.

How is that a question you have to ask? Do you not remember?

Not exactly. Earliest they could meet if Nole and Rafa are 1-2 and Roger is seeded as follows:
If 3-4 meets Rafa or Djokovic in SF in 2021 AO, if 5-12 QF, if 13-24 4th round, if 25-32 3rd round.

I forgot, yes If Djokovic and Rafa stay 1 and 2, then Rogie meets one of them in SF if 3-4, 5-12 QF, 13-24 4th round, and 25-32 in the 3rd round!!
