Safin-Federer at AO 05. I've heard it's one of the greatest matches ever, but couldn't watch it as I was in school. Also probably RG 2004 F, thought that Coria would win it easily and went outside. But that one not as much, can't think of any other.
I also regret missing Mardy's last year match vs Kohli in Cinci. I got there a day later and it's quite possible that it was the last chance to see him play. I got to watch him in doubles though.
The year was 1970. Rod Laver was fresh from winning his second CYGS in 1969 when he met 41 year-old Pancho Gonzales for a $10,000 winner-take-all match in Madison Square Garden. In front of 15,000 fans, Gonzales beat the number one Laver over five sets. I would have loved to be there in the first row behind the server.
Tomic vs Estrella Burgos in the Bogota SF, this year. I've read from our MTF experts that this match is up there with one of the greatest matches of all time. Pretty disappointing that I missed such an incredible match between two great players. Unfortunately I had something important to do during that time, so was unable to watch it. My life sucks.
Recently, the Australian Open final of this year. Would've been quite something to see that unfold. Due to the time difference though, I really couldn't be bothered with being up so early on a Sunday to watch Nadal continue to win every set he'd ever played against Wawrinka. And obviously, we know how it turned out.
We will continue to simulate the season with the second Grand Slam of 2020 - Roland Garros. The draw for the events will be completely randomized. Qualifiers are randomized as well and the WCs are chosen by me.
ALL-NEW - You may only vote ONCE EVERY TWO HOURS this week AND matches are best of...
I see that there are quite a few Indian posters here, I want to ask who do you think was the best tennis player India has ever produced? Others are free to answer and give their opinions as well. Tennis has been a part of Indian sporting history since the 60s. Chennai has been the birthplace of...
Sitting here w/ no live tennis, just happened to catch highlights of their match on AO classics show & pretty entertaining esp. the 4th set TB w/ Nadal’s lefty FH still evolving & pro Aussie crowd clearly flustering Nadal which is opposite of what happens today. Funny to see not only the green...
Steve Fink: "Who is the best player, not just on record but on ability?"
Pat Cash: "𝐃𝐣𝐨𝐤𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐜, he's a freak, he beats other 2 on their best surfaces. Hard to go passed the reality of head to head wins. At his best he's unstoppable."
I've met Pat. Great guy.
Played one set singles with my...
I'm vehemently opposed to holding the Open at all, have e-mailed the USTA letting them know this on more than one occasion and now this. A terrible idea.
