that gives Moya such a hard time? i didn't see either match in which Fish was able to beat King Carlos. what's the deal? anyone?
what is it about Mardy Fish's game...?

He has a lot of feel, has a good tactic to hurt moya exposing his forehand so much. I think Mardy really was great at countering Moya, playing angles and down the lines to keep Carlos unsure. He could attack and defend/pass or use finesse too. He is very talented and not just all power.

Carlos hates FISH (not him personally but Fish )
and i'm starting to feel the same way
be it cold fish or big fish
Carlos really didn't play a good match at all
just one good set and that was set 4 when he took command and hit bigger than in other sets
1st set, Carlos took advantage of a nervous Fish, i only saw the last two games of 1st set. But its his own fault he let the Fish back in, *4-1 up in the tiebreaker he DF and gives the momentum back, still he had two chances to make it 6-3 7-6 but didnt take them.
His serve wasn't working too good either.

Oh TBE, you should consider removing JFC from your sig so you don't look so odd saying such things
But really - Fish Suffocaters is damn lame.
You can do better than that.
"Fish out of water" or something, is even better than that.

TBE, I like most of the Russians, but why do you seem to just systematically dislike most of the young Americans. Mardy is a good sport and played well. What is so terrible about him?

By the way - I forgot to add that not only am I dissapointed that Moya lost (I was drooling at the possibility of a tenth match up against you know who:

But seriously now - TSN just aired it, so I caught the last set.
In the last set Moya was making a LOT of uncharacteristic errors - he couldn't even count on his forehand, which is his main weapon. He also wasn't serving well.
That, and Mardy just didn't let up - he didn't "choke". There was no opportunity to wait for Mardy to collapse, because he didn't do that.
Only seeing one set doesn't tell me what it is about Mardy that messes Moya up though ,because as I said - in that last set, Moya was making so many errors anyhow
This is dissapointing for Moya though - his slam results in the past year have left something to be desired - I have a feeling he might bounce back in time for RG though (wishful thinking?).

Nope i just hate the ones that beat my favs :fiery:
Fish played pretty well though, but if Carlos raised his level 5-10% he would have come thru.
Just very disappointing.
BTW... the Fish Suffocating thing was me trying to be a little funny

I was just pointing out that it was a cute idea, with a very lame name.
Besides - how many people really dislike Mardy and Ferrero enough to keep that going? Hewitt is universally appalled, so that thread was easy to keep up
This time it might jsut be you and Tennischick. But hey - if you enjoy ice fishing, than I guess that won't be such a bad thing
