Ken Rosewell was in his late 30's when winning slams. I doubt Sa will break the record any time soon.

list of atp match winners post 1990 older than 38.
please note that I list only 1 match (where they were oldest) of connors and tarango.. actually there are many more wins of them at which they were 38+ old.

Ivo Karlovic beat Nr.1 (Novak Djokovic) at the age of 36 so he'll probably surpass this if he doesn't retire before that.

Yeah, Connors was like in a QF of a slam at his 40, so Sa isn´t breaking anything. Still nice to see a doubles specialist winning.

EDIT: SF at 39, if wikipedia is right.
