Hey guys!
I am new to tennis. I read posts here like Federer had no chance, if David plays like that Federer doesn´t win a GrandSlam anymore, Federer recieved a beatdown.

I wonder whether you watched the match? I did and I thought they were pretty even. Federer even had a setpoint in the second and who know what happens in the third then. Also if you have a look at the stats it is amazing how equal apart from Federers higher first serve percentage they are. Federer won more points on return and got into a lot more service games then David did, in both the first and second set. The difference is David made more breaks out of less recieving points won (Maybe he played more clever). David played more agressive than Federer and made more winners, but if he makes more errors also that doesn´t matter. Speaking of a beatdown here is wrong. And saying Federer in future has no chance anymore against Nalbandian also is wrong, not only because Federer said in the interview, that he didn´t play his best tennis, plus he didn´t like the slow surface.

Because I wonder why people always make a sensation out of Federer losses (is the same after he lost to Djokovic, ...), I make a poll to ask for your oppinion.

So...is your question What is a beatdown? or Why do Federer's losses get hyped?

You missed the actual reason that his losses make waves - and that is because they happen with relative infrequency. His losses on clay aren't really talked about THAT much because people expect him to lose on clay to Nadal. Otherwise, we all expect him to win, and when he doesn't, it's news.

As he continues to lose more and more often, it will become less and less news.

And JMPower, you are a bloody hypocrite. You unabashedly wait around for Nadal to lose because you hate him so much, but you bitch and moan when people do it to Federer. Suck it up.

I have nothing to suck up, genius. Because unlike you, I don't complain and whine every time somebody says something "mean" about my favorite player. Yeah, see I figure if I can tease about Feds losing, I can take it when somebody teases about Raf losing. That's called being an adult.

This has nothing to do with any decline. NAlbandian has always been great when he is playing his best tennis and always caused big troubles to Federer. Nalbandian is not a better tennis player than Federer and wont be winning grand slams even playing his best tennis because there are some other players who can cause him trouble. Also there are no indoor grand slams and I consider Federer the favorite when facing Nalbandian outdoors anywhere (even clay).

The Djoko match in montreal was just an accident, Djokovic doesnt have the talent of NAlbandian to beat Federer 8 times, he will be lucky to win another match against Federer.

Yeah sure  Nadal has not half the haters Fed has on here and you can't help but find excuses for any step he makes... Keep it up you smart ass :yeah:
Oh my dear Lord. You're delusional too.

BTW, you're reaching here. What does "finding excuses" for Nadal (hilarious) have to do with anything?

Your righteous indignation is most amusing.

This is just funny that YOU call me a whiner. I actually wouldn't mind if those comments weren't coming from a fangirl who bitches everytime people dare state the obvious about Nadal (gamesmanship, jerk attitude on-court,...). :wavey:

What were the stats on winners? I know Nalbandian hit a load of backhand winners, and Federer only hit one the whole match. Not to sure on what the stats were for forehand, but that domination on the backhand would equal a beatdown.

Some classic threadcrapping here between a Fedtard and a Rafartard. This is MTF at its finest, except for when mediter spreads his infinite tennis genius in a new thread.
