He was considered as the next Rafael Nadal some years ago. But at 22, he is still playing futures and he is only 550e.

Strikes me as the sort of player Sombrero loco would gush over.

He had his best year so far winning to ITFs against decent fields (dropped 23 games in total in one of two, an average of 4.6 games per match). Was also sidelined due to injury from May '14 to the rest of the year basically.

actually he indeed was considered the next Nadal about a decade ago

Johnny Groove even put his name in his signature

Guess he wasnt that good in the end. Not the first and surely not the last time a 16 yo promising player doesnt succeed

Isn't he like 1.60m? Not really an ideal height for tennis, is it?
I remember him being number 1 in U-12, U-14 etc... in europe... Guess he didn't really develop that well.

In Portugal we got a similar case but in football. Fábio Paim was, for everyone who followed him, better in everything than Cristiano Ronaldo (they are from the same generation). Played in the same club, Paim was a beast that time. Paim is a no-one now. Only has sh*t in his head.

Same for Carlos here. Shame.
