Paris TMS was playing much slower than before. That certainly helped him to win. Reports are saying the AO will probably be playing slow with the new surface. It could play into his hands.

Obviously he can win it. But then there are many guys who have an equal chance of winning it. The end of last season proved that he has the game but I wouldn't make a bet just yet. The end of season is always a bit tricky with a lot of tired and badly motivated players. In conclusion, it all depends on the way he has been practising during the off season. I think we'll have some indication when the first week of the AO is over. But not before.

Key difference is that Paris is indoors.

All Nalbandian's biggest wins have been indoors; year end masters, Madrid master series and Paris master series.

Nalbandian only likely to win if played with roof closed.

i want to drop 1500 on nalby since hes been so hot before the masters, but rogers in the way, and idk if his fitness can win him his FIRST slam..........
Here is my advice. Wait one or two rounds to check how Nalby is doing. If he wins and Rafa/Nole/Fed are still in the tournament, odds will hardly have dropped but you will have less doubts about his fitness and preparations. I think odds are around 12 so 1500 would give you a decent return.

No, that's no good advice in my opinion.
Nalbandian will be fit & will look good. He won the Copa da Argentina two weeks ago looking pretty good.

The question is if he can get past the quarterfinal and semifinal, as usual with Nalbandian.
I have now doubt that he will reach that far.

I doubt it. Despite the fact Nalbandian beat Federer in the Paris, I don't think he will win because Federer seems to have that extra gear that he can only access in grand slams. Federer will the Australian, and David still has to go through numerous good players before he reaches the final, like Nadal, Gonzales, Djokovic, Murray, Gasquet, and the like. We'll see if he is fit enough to persevere, which I think is the deciding factor, along with dedication, in how well he will do overall this year.
