Anyone who saw what happened here knows it's a very unfortunate situation for Fernando, Chile and their Davis Cup hopes, which are pretty much shot now. Fernando was really struggling prior to the injury to begin with but was battling hard and managed to make a match of it, but he fell and reportedly tore his left thigh and could not continue. With another setback in this long line of injuries for Fernando, one has to think this may be the final match retirement before his official career retirement.

I'm happy, however, that it looks like Italy will finally be back in the WG after a long absence.

Yeah I think we've seen the last of Gonzalez :(

Shame. When he's in form, he was awesome.

Chile was a great team with Gonzo and Massu but both those guys are old and no one has replaced them, they deserve to be out of the WG until new guys can play. Sad to see Gonzo headed straight for retirement, he really should have won a slam and was very unlucky to run into Federer at his absolute peak at the AO 2007
