West Coast Eagles Cheering Thread - what is luck?

My beloved West Coast Eagles are into the AFL Aussie Rules grand final against the Sydney Swans. They have been the supreme team all year, and now there is but one game that stands between them and the ultimate glory of this sport.

May it be a fair game next Saturday, and good luck to both teams.

VAMOS EAGLES!

What does one do...
Born in Perth... lived in Sydney the last 20 years...don't even remember Perth (I'm 23) but I was very Pro Western Reds back in the day :tape:

Err... Dempster, I guess... will make me slightly more pro-Swans... but, either way, it should be an awesome match, and I've no doubt they both deserve it :)
Re: West Coast Eagles Cheering Thread

Um, yeah that's just the thing... the Swans DON'T deserve it :fiery: Playing good for 10 minutes of a semi-final means you shouldn't even be playing in the preliminary final that gets you through :fiery: Can anyone tell that I'm still a gutted passionate Geelong supporter??? :p Anyway, The Weagles have Judd :hearts: and I supported them at the match v Adelaide I went to in Perth a few weeks ago so I'm all for a West Coast victory.

GO EAGLES

How on earth does that make you make up your mind?

If they had beaten us by 50 points and not won the way in which they did against us I would have been quite happy for them to win the Premiership since they haven't since 1933, and because of the South Melbourne link - I would love the Premiership to stay home in Melbourne - but I just can't bring myself to cheer for them because I feel they are there falsely.

Anyway... GO TIGERS since there are no Roosters and no Storm left

The Cats were desperately unlucky, that was a case of where the better team didn't win on the day.

Re: West Coast Eagles Cheering Thread

How does it make up my mind? Sort of like the way Hewitt fans encourage me to cheer against him (except with a couple of major differences, e.g. I respect you and you're not :retard:. Also, I'm just beginning to learn about AFL so I don't have a huge care factor of what happens, so can probably afford to pick a team to cheer for in such a crazy way. I could flip a coin for it).

so,... the way the Swans df the Cats, would be sort of similar to, say,...the golden point rule in league... one team might have been playing better for the majority of the game, yet the other one sneaks back and scores in the dying seconds of the game, to secure a win? I didn't see the match. I was at work and have only seen the statistics, which were impressive from the Swans point of view. If the Swans managed to get back at the end, then I'm happy for them. And for Paul Roos for putting a rocket up their ass after the third. (I might have the saying completely wrong here :tape: ) I guess the Cats should have fought a bit harder to hold on til the very end, it would be a rough way to lose such an important match, for sure.

I should stop all this swan-loving discussion in this thread... ;) Feels weird (wrong) to go for the same team as people around me.

Well, no, they played crap for the 3rd quarter at least (I didn't see the 1st half coz I was watching cricket and gave us NO hope before the match) and someone shoved a rocket/carrot/pineapple (I'm not sure what) up Nick Davis's arse coz he's the only one who seems to have played.

Geelong shouldn't have gone defensive so early and I yelled at them for that at the time - 8 minutes from the end of the match is WAY too early. But missing Steven King for so much of the match and poor Cameron Mooney (yeah Kristen that's the 'hot' one) having to do so much ruckwork on his own really hurt us.

Apparantly the Swans had practised that move as a set play and it eventually came off - why it had to happen against us in the most important match of the year I have no idea, but I guess it all comes down to fate.

I've lived though 4 GF losses between 1989 and 1995 and I've waited 10 years to get into another GF, so I guess I'll just have to keep waiting :(

You did indeed! I wasn't impressed that your guys gave that match to us so easily.

Best of luck next week anyway!! Hope you can win one WITHOUT beating us for it this time :D
