He's also playing a lucky loser in the QF, although said LL just dispatched the no.1 seed Federico Coria in straight sets. So could be tough for Bernie to progress any further here.

good chance to make it into the sfs here

Tomic and Andres Andrade (ATP Ranked 301) faced each other twice in the ITF Circuit. Tomic won in Cancun in 2022 6-4, 6-4 in the semi final. In Pensacola earlier this year Andrade appeared to have won when Tomic withdrew in the semis apparently. God willing he won't withdraw or retire this time round.

In the Rafa Nadal and Istanbul Challengers, Bernard Tomic has withdrawn from both tournaments for some unknown reason. Not sure why that is?

smh of course Matthieu went and got himself banned
i mean. he always played with fire, especially with all that xenophobic stuff against spanish peopleç

btw, bernie playing in 2 hours and a half vs andrade

Hopefully Bernie’s OK after all these withdrawals and the latest beat down. It seems he’s been grinding pretty consistently this year on the Latam / US ITF / challenger tours so maybe a few weeks reset might do him good. Must be quite demoralizing to grind for a couple of years and still be stuck around 250 - 350 in the world (haven’t checked his latest ranking).

Doesn’t help that when he gets behind in a set he gives up and loses them in 25 minutes. That’s not how tennis works

Don't quite know what's up with Tomic? There have been heck of a lot of withdrawals from the ATP Winston-Salem Open. He had a chance to get into the qualies, but he had changed his mind. He is the 13th alternate for the US Open qualies which he is still down for. Chances of getting into that right now are slim to none at this stage. Guess will post something early next week on when he next intends to play in a tournament.
