Very good win for Kuznetsov, good return numbers. Junqueira is the perfect match for him to dominate with his weapons. But I hope Machi beats him in the quarters.

Giannessi def. Souza 6-3 6-3

Big win for Alessandro and big loss for Feijao. Loss hurts Souza's chances for making the AO MD but he still has chances. Giannessi also has chances and must win this event to have a shot. Good win for the Italian after some bad weeks.

Re: Week 46: Montevideo (Entry List)

SF order of play: Machi Gonzalez vs Leo Mayer and Berlocq vs Giannessi.

Another great SF line up after Buenos Aires. I`m just wondering if Berlocq would have energy enough to face this SF match after winning single and doubles titles last week and after playing two long matches this week with Cervenak and Bagnis last night. If Mayer wins the title here he might jump close to the top 65 which would be great considering that a couple of months ago he was behind the top 200 rankings.

On the other hand I remember that a couple of months ago some people on this forum where wondering why european players didn`t face these tournaments in South America alledging that the quality of the main entry lists were poor. On the contrary I believe that the quality of the line ups and cut off of the main draw lists were not bad at all and in some cases like the ones of Sao Jose do Rio Preto, Sao Leopoldo, Buenos Aires and Montevideo were really good. Many good players like Machado, Pospisil, Odesnik, Prodon and Gil for instance and other uprising ones like Giannessi and Kuznetsov were unable even to reach the finals of any tournament of this Latin American swing that started in Quito (except of Munoz de la Nava in Quito).

Berlocq def. Giannessi 6-2 6-2

M. Gonzalez def. Mayer 6-3 7-5

Charly v Machi final. Charly going for back to back tournament wins, which would put him in the top 60. If Machi wins, he has a chance to regain a top 100 spot next week in Ecuador and make Australia. So extremely important match for both players. Hopefully Machi takes it. Really great win for him over Leo, after months of struggles.

Great to see that Charlie is in another final. As Filo well said if he wins he is going to jump close to the top 60. Great victory for Machi aswell. Nice final to watch

Re: Week 46: Montevideo (Entry List)

Amazing way for Charlie to finish this 2011 with back to back victories in Buenos Aires and Montevideo. He can focus 2012 playing Auckland, Australian Open, South American Swing + Indian Wells and Key Biscayne + European clay court season. He doesnt have many points to defend so if he has a few good performances he may jump to the top 50.
