Re: Week 43: São José do Rio Preto (Entry List)

Very good list, but WTF is Rui doing here ranked 59? So clownish.

GL to my many faves on the list, especially Ruben and Machi.

What is there NOT to understand?? His ranking of 59 was attained last week. Last week the entry deadline for the indoor ATP events was already closed. Seeing as he'll also be playing the ATP Challenger finals, it's very obvious that he'd travel to South America to prepare for that event...

Re: Week 43: São José do Rio Preto (Entry List)

That event is on HC, not clay, correct? So I don't buy that, he can play a couple of the challenger indoor events in Europe before traveling to S.A., or US HC events, which would be less travel and practice on the hard court before the championships. The reality is he's a points hog, similar to others who continue playing challengers even when they have sealed top 100 positions.

Are you kidding? The guy is a professional and we're talking about PRO tennis, not club level tennis... he surely knows what's best for both his career AND his pocket... of course he could stay in Europe playing the indoor challengers or go to the HD US events.. but seeing as that's not his best surface and he still has quite a bit of points to defend until the end of the year (about 200, give or take a few) he chose to travel to South America where every year he plays these october challengers... Wise option... As is also a wise option for Eric Prodon to do the exact same thing!

Makes sense Machado is there, got the points to defend as you said, plus the Masters in Sao Paulo, lot worse places to be than South America this time of year.

Rui will play São José do Rio Preto, São Leopoldo, Buenos Aires and the Challenger Masters in São Paulo. As he is the current leader in the challenger Ranking, it's more than logical he's playing there...

Re: Week 43: São José do Rio Preto (Entry List)

Cervenak arrives in Rio Preto with his coach

With the encouragement of his father, who ran a shop in the National Tennis Centre in the country, Pavol began to play the game and never stopped. Today, the tennis player lives in Cologne, Germany.

This is what ensures his coach, Carsten Schauff, who is with him in the BVA Open 2011. " Pavol greatly improved his technique and ability to play with both hands at the Academy that trains in Germany. Moreover, he has a professional to accompany you in the tournament, which is very important. The coach gives tips, support, help in organization and training of the athlete. It is a pity that many players can not have one. "

And the tenist confirms the words of the coach. "There are good places and centers for the practice of tennis in Slovakia, but the structure which I use in Germany is fantastic and helps me to be a most qualified." Training Tennis Academy in Cologne, he reached the final of the Challenger and Slovakia in the quarterfinals of the ATP Tournament in Stuttgart.

As for the BVA Open and high temperatures in Rio Preto, the Slovak hopes to make a good tournament. "I'm used to playing in places warmer than in Europe. This year I played in Buenos Aires and Montevideo and is nice to be in South America at this time, because now it has began to cool down a lot in Germany. I hope to do an excellent Challenger and be among the first. " With the withdrawal of Nikola Ciric, Leonardo Mayer, Blaz Kavcic and Alessio Di Mauro, Pavol entered the main draw of BVA Open.

Pavol said that the life of tennis, jumping from place to place every week, requires a lot of passion, otherwise you cant jus succeed in the sport. "Playing tennis is like any other job. The difference is that sometimes you do not like what they do but just hold on. In tennis, if there is no passion, you cannot donate yourself in full confidence and play hard this wonderful sport. "

Re: Week 43: São José do Rio Preto (Entry List)

has the qualy draw even been made yet??

as an american, i have no idea wtf anything on the website says and unfortunately the english version of the website is only able to translate about half the pages

does the ATP website update the OOP as soon as it comes out or is there like a 30 minute time lapse between the official release and the update on the ATP website???
