Re: Week 20: Eskisehir, Turkey [Entry List]

Challengers held during GS qualifying week should be worth maximum 40-50 points, just make it $20,000+H or change date.

The gap between Lorenzi and the next-highest entrant :spit: It makes sense given the date of the tournament, but Lorenzi really shouldn't be here to begin with.

Why on earth is Lorenzi playing a hard court challenger 1 week before a grand slam on clay.... makes no sense

Because he realise it's the only way to get some points... That's why I said it cant be like that this kind of tournament offers points like ATP 250 semifinals, it just cant... Welcome to ATP, this week they allowed 6 challengers at the same time, then doing this absurd Eskisehir

If in your draw there are only players ranked below 200, then it's futures, as simple as that.

The lower ranked players need all the help they can get, saying they should get less points and money is just dumb, this field isn't different than on a week where there are a lot of challengers and opportunity, the fields are dependant on how many events there are, you should know this by now, the more challengers the better for low ranked guys, they are ch level as long as they can get in, quite a few should not be playing Futures, to say only top 200 players should be playing CH's is absurd.

That's your opinion, I got my own. Thing is that winner of this event will get circa the same points as Geneva semifinalist that week, something is wrong here... Its okay with normal challenger, but this one is so poor, and yes - it is different than rest - one vulturing top100 player and no one from 100-200, where challengers are mainly for players ranked 70-200.

No it's not different, did you know that this week's An-Ning challenger in China is even worse than this one, so please stop with this, you don't know what you are talking about.

You're mixing things, I'm saying that challengers are tournaments mainly for players ranked 70-250. There are four weeks each year, where those players are either playing GS qualifying, or ATP250 just before GS main draw starts. And for this particular reason there should be NO challenger in calendar that week, because it is unfair to Top200 players, who play challengers whole year. Just like there are no ATP World Tour events during Grand Slams.

How in any way is it unfair to have a challenger that week, and I just stated that there are usually more than the top 250 players playing challengers for a good number of weeks. It sounds to me like you basically stated that this event is too weak to be a challenger.
