So, Thomas is 100 times the player that Sjeng will ever be, eh TBE?

Well if one Dutchman can't do it, the other one will... :D

OK Martin, let's build on that result (a Krajicek-Verkerk final will be superb, if a little short on long rallies).

I entirely concur with the above statement...

What a remarkable match! It looked like Richie Rich (well, he has banked over $10 million in earnings) was on his way out against The Big-Lipped One, but boy did he hold his nerve when needed! Slight hint of controversy about the fault serve at 12-12, but methinks Stepanek was skating on thin ice when he complained.

Now two Dutchmen in the quarters - but Rich is going to have to rectify that loss to Nieminen last year...

Well Gaudenzi against El Aynaoui is no great surprise - I should imagine Younes is still exhausted having played a 21-19 final set then having to hop on a plane two days later to come over to Europe.

One of the problems of scheduling is that a lot of the people who do well in these minor tournaments do so simply because they are the least tired and least injured, not because they play the best tennis throughout the week. I wonder whether some of the winners of these titles will prove to be mere flash in the pans - not that I'm naming names, Davide...

Well that I never knew...

Really! You'd think there was some kind of law to prevent these stressed out, globe-trotting tennis players from being harassed by attractive female company wherever they go, but I don't suppose Younes minded too much, lol

That signature of yours is frankly rather worrying - what next, Ferrero likes McDonalds and Coca-Cola (although come to think of it, he did actually say this in an interview about what foods he preferred, giving the impression that he was something of a fast food junkie, though you only have to take one look at him to realise this is not so).

Several players were asked this question, and we now know that Rusedski has a liking for sushi, Ferreira likes to do a lot of "carb loading" with seafood, and Grosjean has a little pizza place in Marseille that he visits regularly. You'd never guess, would you?

Slightly off-topic, there was also a mention of female players' eating habits - lucky Capriati revealed that she got home-cooked Italian meals which may explain her slightly plumper figure these days, and Dementieva turned out to be a real Mummy's girl at heart, saying that she got all her best meals from mother.

Likhovtseva recommended a restaurant in Paris which simply served steak and French fries with nothing else, and where there were virtually no queues. Ah, the French have an elegant simplicity all their own when it comes to dining, don't they?
