The first set went much like Raonic's previous matches (poor returning while playing a good TB and watching his opponent self-destruct). In the second set, Steve lost a little belief and Milos took advantage of that on return. He still isn't anywhere near firing on all cylinders, but he's getting closer.

Young is up next in the SF, so there's a great chance here for him to make the final.

Routine, as expected.

Sock, Oldwitt, Johnson, Young - what a tough route to an ATP 500 SF.
That's actually his route to the Final and not the SF :worship:
He deserves to vulture this, since he was injured during February where he normally picks up 550 points-ish.

Oh well. Hopefully tennis wins next time.
If you honestly think Donald Young is a better representative for "tennis" than Raonic you're completely delusional. Raonic is infinitely superior. The only thing Young even has in common with Raonic is their affinity to beat Judy Murray's 2nd favourite son :tape:

...before getting routined by him when it matters most.

The important thing is Milos is beating these scrubs in straight sets he is nowhere near top form but still dismissing the scrubs in straight sets. Glad Milos broke serve finally in the event. I feel this is a concern he NEEDS to break more often if he wants to go higher in the rankings.

Maybe but holding your serve is always the main objective and with a serve like Milos has this is normally a given every match. Milos seems to raise his game for tie breakers which is always good.

Yes against the nobodies Milos will just hold his serve BUT against the best players he will need to get the return of serve to work. Against Federer at Wimbledon Milos lost easily due to the fact his inability to put pressure on his serve. Against the best players like Federer, Djokovic returning serve and breaking is so important.

Taking down the 3 biggest serves in the game (Isner, Karlovic, Raonic) consecutively was never going to be easy. But 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
