Re: Week 31

If the Bryans meet Butorac/Klassen in round 2, will Butorac/Klassen defeat them for the 3rd time this year? First 2 times were at Australian Open and the Memphis final.

Re: Week 31 : 500 Washington/250 Kitzbuhel

Kontinen/Nieminen FIN beat (2)Knowle/Marach AUT 6-2 0-6 10-4, great win
Was Henri the one who started the 2nd set with 3 double faults in a row? At least he didn't choke in the match tb this time, unlike in Bastad and Gstaad. :yeah:

Kontinen is probably the only player for whom practically every win gets a mention here
He has dedicated fans :p

Dodig/melo needed an incredible 12 set points in their 2nd set yesterday, they went on to win the 3rd set breaker too.

:woohoo: . Congrats ! Keep up the good work :) .

"They're a new team, the first time they played together," said Tecau of Groth and Paes. "We were able to watch a few of their matches during the week and we made a plan for the match today. We knew what to expect. Groth is a big server and with Leander at the net we knew it was going to be a tough task.

"We were just hoping to get in the return games when Leander was serving and engage Groth at the net. Despite the slow start, we played pretty solid and once we got the break back we were able to get some more energy and confidence and just rolled for the rest of the match."

"We talk a lot and communicate," said Rojer about the partnership. "We've known each other for a long time and we work hard and enjoy competing. It comes naturally when we're on the court together."

That has to be most NID strategy against Groth/Paes.

The way things are going, this could be Paes' fist year with no title since he won his first title, all the way back in 1997. (Of course, several opportunities are still left.)
