Why does he get a quali WC? :confused: Isn't he ranked high enough to get into qualifying?

Too bad he had to retire... :(

Maybe he was too late to confirm that he would play? I think I've heard things like that before : like good players that were too late too confirm their paticipation and needed a WC to get in.
