Bemelmans had 2 MPs. On the second, Baghdatis's shot hit the top of the net and it set up as an absolute sitter for Bemelmans to end it- and he missed. Double fault at 2-5 in the tiebreak.
Horrible choke as is the standard for Bemelmans. I'll upload a GIF of that MP in a second...

Horrible outcome for Bemelmans but it's only one of many many matches that he loses when he should have won. It's great to watch Bemelmans play like this. Takes the ball very early and takes the initiative to create angles or go the net. It causes some bad misses but it's all good if he doesn't dwell on it in the next point. He couldn't get a 1st serve in in the late moments of the match. Baghdatis' passing for 4*-1 in the tb was great and gave him a comfortable lead to seal the win.

Baggy :woohoo:

Thought Bemelmans played well actually until he missed a ball an armless person would have made on match point. Baggy looks like he's lost weight IMO.

Why he went for the slice? The ball was not so low under the net he could not flick a forehand. Easy to say from here, but wow, what a miss

Baghdatis was a solid top 10 player and making deep runs in slams in 2004-2007. Now he's playing challenger events. Speaks volumes.

Wow, that match point. From what I've seen Marcos has not played well in this tournament really, yet he finds himself in the final against Dustov.

If he wins today it'll give me hope that he can win one last ATP title before he retires.

Bemelmans is a terrible choker so no surprises here. You have to see a smash he missed in the Uchyama (not sure how it's written) match, earlier this week.
