Saved a match point and took the match on his fourth or fifth if I'm not mistaken.

Tense scoreboard time!

Man, we couldn't see what was happening but I assume popsicle was lucky to get a second mini break chance in the TB. He had a MP at 5*-6 in the third set and then a MP on serve at 6*-5 in the TB, then no mini breaks until 9-9 when Isner gave Vasek another chance to serve for it.

Absolutely blows for John, but what can you do. Food poisoning in China for all intents and purposes wiped out the last two months of his season.
Fought like crazy, as always.

more like his 8th mp. He had 2 at 6-5 in the 3rd set, 3 from 6-3 in the TB, 1 at 7-6, 1 at 9-8, and finally the one that finished it off at 10-9

As always, hard to judge from watching the SB, but it looked to me that Isner was having severe trouble with his serving - many, many 2nd serves, and especially in a TB, such is going to be costly eventually. and for my v-Cash :smash:
Pospisil seemed to have the upper hand at most time during the 3rd set, so deserved victory. Well done, Vasek. :yeah:

More than that. He had 2 MPs when it was *5-6, in the TB *3-6, *4-6, 5-6*, *6-7 *8-9 and 9-10*. I think he converted his 8th MP and saved 2.

yep won it on his 8th mp, I only think he saved 1 though, at 8-7 in the TB

I've only ever seen Popsickle play doubles, but he did come up with some awesome volleys. Good for him for decapitating zombieIsner.

Serving is the last problem that Isner had.. I mean he was getting 74% 1st serve in

Isner did look rather off in the first set it seemed, but he did pick it up quite nicely in sets 2 and 3, and seemely like himself, but again it's only based on livescore so I could be wrong

In that 3rd set, too? I recall many '2nd serve' indications on the SB.
Like I said, difficult to judge from there, so maybe you're right.
