Classy win for a top player on a somewhat off day. Not returning too well but the usual big serve + baseline consistency did the job. Just one break all match, quite a contrast to the norm. I really like Medvedev's self-believing mentality, coming from 1-5 down in the first set tiebreak was no mean feat and Rublev wasn't even too bad besides the DF, but Med hit all first serves from then on and finished the set in style, with an awesome backhand from outside the court to bring up SP, quickly converted with an ace. His physical woes have me worried though. Struggled again in the third set and took an MTO, but was able to successfully move on from camping at the baseline to calculated aggression and squeezed through.

Always nice to see a Rublev loss.

Very serve dominant match. Rublev led the first TB 5-1 but some nice defense helped Medvedev come back to win it 8-6.
Other than that Rublev never even got to deuce in his return games.

Medvedev in his second consecutive USO SF.

Faces either De Minaur or Thiem(likely)

Well done Chairman

Some ****** in the armour here and there, but overall pretty impressive stuff!

Rublev in career-best form, and he really challenged the premier NextGen force, but still too much class in the end, and especially too much clutch from Medvedev, to pull it out in three.

His combo of serve return and baseline game, weather its his steadiness, wall defense, or bashing of the ball, is just impenetrable for most.

He‘s a mix of unstoppable force and immovable object.

Despite straight sets, extremely high quality match, great ballstriking from both. Shame Rublev choked the first, could have been more exciting then. But I guess it's just impossible for him to win a set against the Defense Minister anyway.

Medvedev is just too strong among NextGen, not just mentally, tactically as well.

Rublev was really giving up in 2nd set after he choked 1st TB... then in 3rd set he was playing well enough to get to TB again, to lose it meekly by a few errors.
Nevertheless, Medvedev's net game is very bad, that's the area Thiem could win more if he would go to the net more.

Even Medvedev praised Rublev in his interview, said he wasn't expecting Rublev to play this well. But the bear is too strong.

Really enojyed this one, we might be fine without the big three after all;)

Didn't expect this to be a straight setter during the match but he pulled it off.

And people definitely overreacted to calling the 1S a choke. Rublev did nothing tragic outside of that DF.

Med was punishing on serve and had an insane BH counter dig on return at 6-6, then aced. Brutal.

Med had a shoulder MTO as well as some light cramping in the 3rd, if the match goes long vs Thiem, I'd favor the Austrian

Your impressions of the match aren‘t accurate.

Good showing from rublev but medvedev was simply too good. Somewhere in the second set meds serve clicked and he was untouchable on serve. However his physic is a suspect, was he injured or cramps, he needs to deal with this before the semi-final if he doesn't want be destroyed by thiem. Other than that great performance, if he keeps this level up he can win the title.
