This, pretty muchGulbis's is uglier but Paire's is the most useless.
Gulbis' forehand really isn't bad at all. His backhand is more solid, but too many people pick on his forehand just because of his motion. There are plenty of top 50 players with worse forehands than him.Gulbis has this title sown up, but I still think Paire's is actually worse then Gulbis's. Which is quite incredible really
And serve and movement. Gulbis movement really is top draw but people tend not to talk about it so much...Gulbis looks horrible and is average at best, the reason he is not a top player as his BH is so good
Yeah his power, BH and movement for a big guy is amazing held back by the FH and mentally can be weak. And serve and movement. Gulbis movement really is top draw but people tend not to talk about it so much...
This nonsense is brought up from time to time still on here when it's just that - nonsense. His forehand was changed exactly because it wasn't working and producing too many UEs and that's according to Gulbis himself and his coach. His current forehand is uglier, no doubt, and it can have bad days when he can't find the court at all, but overall when the 2 forehands are compared statistically, the new forehand is more sound than the previous one and at the end of the day it may be an awfully ugly shot, but it's definitely far from being one of the worst (quality wise) FH in the game - it's a fairly solid/average shot.Gulbis's old FH was so much better than this crappy jerky weird FH he has now. Why he chose this over his old FH is a mystery to me
I'm not saying he didn't hit alot of UE's but that had nothing to do with his technique. He just hit the ball as hard as he could, and now he doesn't. His old FH was technically sound, this one really isn't. IMO he's hitting less UE's now because he is more patient, more mature. This nonsense is brought up from time to time still on here when it's just that - nonsense.
