Marsel came back from 2-4 in the second set. Lamine had 4 BPs for double break but Marsel saved them in a good fashion, then routined.

Lamine :wavey:

Now make the SF Marsel, you've got the easiest opponent right there.

Lamine wasted a huge chance on one of those BPs with some poor net play. Once he lost the set, the ending was NID.

Glad, and surprised, to see Marsel prevail here.

Yes, Lamine should get fitter, but that ain't going to happen.

Marsel was up 5-2 in the first set. Then up 5-3 40-15 and lost the set from there playing some mindless tennis. After that, Ouahab got into this groove and was hitting running forehand and backhand winners left and right. That is until he missed those BP's at 4-2 in the second set. Once Marsel held for 4-3 Ouahab went into a self destruct mode and started spraying errors left and right. He also started looking very tired. Once Marsel went up 3-0 in the third set he played a few loose points and Ouahab had a breakpoint or two to get back. He couldn't break and it was game over.

Marsel did not look good at all. Very disappointing.

Ouahab attempted a gazillion drop shots. I think he hit one good one that was a winner. Marsel netted another two that he easily got to. And the remaining 30 or so barely made it as far as the net. He also hit an obscene number of double faults starting from the tail end of the second set. He has good strokes but really needs to up his fitness.

do you still support the moroccan?
Don't call him that. He will always be Algerian. It's thickskull politics from Algeria tennis why he switched and he did it for money so I do not blame. He is still Algerian.
