Wow, I just finished watching the Safin/Kiefer match and just . . . wow. It was amazing. Both players cramping but managing to hold on to a tiebreak. In the end, Kiefer's legs just gave out on him.
Safin's sportsmanship was great. When Nicolas went down at 5-4 in the tiebreak, it was Marat who went over and called for the trainer to come on court, then stood two feet away to make sure Nicolas was okay.
I know. What a drama! Kiwi was limping so hard I couldn't believe he kept going. Kudos to him, that was a brave fight. I was almost in tears when he collapsed in the tiebreak, and I was rooting for Marat. He kept going though. Amazing!
