Sorry for Tsitsipas. Still, when the problem has been there for some time, you hope for surgery to be a turnaround. And sometimes it is, so let's hope for the best. The tour needs all the top players to be healthy and competitive, Tsitsipas not the least.

Sad, hope he recovers fast and doesn't experience any hiccups.

Where is that guy who was saying a few days ago he wasn't motivated and that's why he withdrew from WTF but I guess beating Dimimug in straights indoors while in that sad state can make one bitter.

Any specifics about the surgery? They can of different kinds. Can be a microsurgery with a couple of weeks of recovery tops or a more complicated one, that can potentially take a player out for a very long time. Months if not years. Hopefully, it's the former. This really sucks. But, at least he and his team seem to know what the problem is. Half the way to solving it, as they say.
I wish him speedy and full recovery and hoping to see him on the court soon. Don't think I can bear Djoko-Meddy-Zed hegemony for long.

this would explain is disappointing 2021 from rg final on. it's always possible it could be a strategic exaggeration to excuse all the disappointing losses since the summer. can't rule that out. hope we see the very best of stefanos in 2022, he's a great colorful appealing character and player who hopefully recovers from the heartbreaking dvasation of that rg final loss.

The first major injury as a top player. Every top player has to experience this, it's only a matter of time. Thiem is just finding his way back from his wrist injury. Luckily he didn't have to have surgery, hopefully the issue has resolved.

Things often get tougher before they get easier but with each struggle we get an opportunity to create our own unique story.

Some days life is all about your dreams, hopes and visions for the future. There are also days where life is just about putting one foot in front of the other and that’s okay too.

To all the fans, thank you for your continuous support and encouragement.

Focused on a healthier and happier future.

Next stop, pre-season in Dubai two weeks from now and then looking forwards to Australia.

Sounds similar to chronic elbow pain Novak felt for some years before finally opting for a ‘surgical procedure’.

Every player has different physiques & tolerance to the rigours of the tour so no telling the long term outlook for him or anyone in his position. Being over a decade younger than Novak is encouraging but then again there r few who r as strict in training & diet as the Serb so who really knows.

Perhaps even his OHBH technique itself led to the problem but whatever it really is or what anyone thinks of some of his antics, he’s a fierce competitor who i believe gives his all out on the courts so wish him a speedy recovery.
