Really the sensible solution was moving the match to CC to finish it today. Now winner will have to return against Cilic in QF with no day rest.

When are they adding a roof and lights to Court 1?

Pretty embarrassing for them actually that they not use the resources they have. Spectators around the world thinking "wtf"

I believe someone said something about there being too much crowd and moving to CC would cause a panic to get seats.

AO doesn't give a shit, they have much more time to play with the night session, the real problem for Wimbledon is the Middle Sunday, without it you can play 1 half on Sunday and 1 half on Monday even without worrying about light.

I mean really , anyone could see that Federer match will end quickly and this one could go on and they do this
No idea why they put the Federer match on Centre and this one on No. 1: surely it should have been the other way about? Then we wouldn't have had the problem: the Djok/Anderson match could have gone on all evening if necessary.

pretty sure most slams don't move matches off courts when darkness comes to get them finish. They all postpone them to the next day.

However the reason they did it Saturday was because the middle Sunday, if they postponed it they would have had to wait 2 days, have a full R16 match Tuesday and a full QF Wednesday the next day.

1 set and then a match the next day isn't bad, especially when Nole will routine Anderson tomorrow, and then routine Cilic Wednesday. He would have practiced tomorrow for at least an hour anyway

Not all evening, as the Village of Wimbledon imposes a 11 PM cut-off. But they might have been able to finish by that hour.
