:notworthy:

This match point is a testament to Grigor's talent and resolve. He just refused to lose that point. The court coverage, the variety, the courage. Simply breathtaking.
Yeah that rain break was a testament to Dimitrov's luck.

That match was an absolute mess at times, but glad it culminated into a very watchable ending. Match point was very good. Dimitrov's reaction...lol

One of the best match points I’ve seen.

Glorious result for tennis. Always great to see Verdasco out, especially if it’s by Dimitrov

You’re actually more bitter than emotion. Congratulations, that is incredibly hard to achieve.

What, you gonna deny Verdasco was the better player in the 3rd until the rain break?

I feel bad for Dimitard always having to defend his fav from the haters. He'll find a spark again. Maybe not this tournament nor this season, but he will.

The match point was amazing, but the level during this match - poor. Even this tie-break was poor, a lot of UEs, especially from Nando. Grigor's backhand is not hurting his opponent and that seems to be a problem as he is able to set rally from his right side, but cannot finish it. Also GD serve... He was 0/6 first serves is tie-break. And Verdasco still could not win it.

I see him losing vs Milos Raonic (if he goes through Tiafoe).

Will need to clean up his BH errors but if he does a run to the semis is possible.

One of the best match points ever. The rest was what you'd expect out of these two (great shotmaking, good defence from Dimitrov, and inexplicable unforced errors under pressure).

Thank god this is a result thread, otherwise the OP would've been sent straight to ruins.

Glorious matchup. 6 meetings, 6 3-setters. Not surprising, given both guys are both supreme shotmakers and equally supreme headcases. Nando is a legend, of course. But Dimitrov needed this win more. Losing 3 in a row would be too much even for someone as resilient as he is.

The match pt was considered good? :spit: If only for being a long rally, with some scrambling ok... but it was just Dimitrov pushing and pushing for Verdasco to finally grow weary and make an error. Verdasco didn't once try to come in a pressure him at net.
