Bad athlete, bad work ethic, lazy attitude, not a likeable guy on the court.
But still. I have been watching tennis since 2003 and Tomic is the most revolutional player have seen, apart from the usual suspects at the top. I remember watching him at the Australian Open in 2011, beating Lopez and beaten by Nadal. He strangely made Nadal look awkwardly out of balance for a set and a half, effortlessly.
Tomic's court sense is incredible, the way he can use the geometrics of the court is remarkable.
From a strictly technical point of view, he just did not work on his weaknesses (ROS, footwork, lack of offensive mindset) to improve as a player after the breakthrough year, and the tour kind of figured him out.
Do I think he is the best player of his generation? Of course not, but the raw talent he has surpasses even Dimitrov's or Tsitsipas'.
