I still don't like that he is playing a 500 event. But at least a win with no drama. Still only one set lost since his Rublev match in Cincy. Amazing consistency.
At least one 500 event after USO is mandatory IIRC. @Slasher1985 ? Plus also a minimum number of mandatory 500s? And if you don't play you'll get a 0 in your tally, which is not good when you're duking it out with Sinner over the #1 (and YEC #1) spot.
I think most of us are wondering if Alcaraz is actually fit enough this match but as seen on his early sprint after the coin toss that he's raring to go. Not sure if that's wise or not, but Alcaraz skips tournaments when he feels injured (even some Masters 1000s) so I'd have to assume he just knows his body. Looked pretty good and didn't lose a Set. I just hope that ankle doesn't flare up again today.
For some people 2600 points difference is close race in october.
