Shapovalov seemed to just tank the last game (he was already down a break). Ended it with a DF.

 

No Shapoooooo. How did he play? I constantly have hope Shapo will blossom, but no.

 

Shapo only showed up in Tokyo because of Yonex. If not for sponsor commitment, he would've skipped this week just like his fellow newlywed FAA.

 

Shapovalov served for the first set and had four SP on return in the next game but genuinely nothing he could do, Altmaier hit five great returns and some more great followup shots and in the next game on the SP he just blasted everything away as he kept going for his shots
