By and large, despite the arcane way in which tennis scores are announced, every point in tennis counts the same...or does it? I have been toying with watching for "two-pointers." There are two varieties. One is *losing* a two pointer. For example, the person finally causes a week return such as a short lob and has a chance to hit an easy put away and instead smashes it into the net. I call this a "two-pointer" because the person has lost the point that they should have won and, in addition, lost a point. It gives a psychological lift to the opponent and is a real downer for the person who did. One can also win a "two-pointer"...the person is forced way out of position say to their forehand and is basically out of the court. Now, they hit a flat, impossible to return shot around the net. I would call this a positive "two-pointer." Just out of curiosity, does anyone else find this a useful concept.
