I've waited a year and a half for this. Patiently waited, anxious that this man would fluke another title somewhere or go down to challengers and keep himself top 100. But, luckily, none of that happened. And here we are. FINALLY, Mikhail Kukushkin has been removed from the top 100. The fact he was top 100 to begin with is cause for laughter, but this charade is finally over. I think people expect me to be ultra happy. I'm more relieved than anything.

Even still, this has been an awful week of tennis for me and I pretty much am disenchanted with the game, but at least something I wanted to happen actually did happened. Now hopefully Kamke is next, which will happen next week.

If you have any thoughts about these developments, leave them below.

Only Junqueira is worse, and he'll be out of the top 100 in a few weeks. The other guys are better than him, Prodon maybe around equal ability, but at least he's good on a surface. Kukushkin is at least mediocre on all surfaces and bad on clay.

He'll be back in the top 100 soon enough, though probably nowhere near his CH of 58. Possibly low 80s/high 90s.

Almost all of my favorites lost, when they had opportunities to do damage, and boost their rankings. The guys I needed to see win couldn't get the job done. Also, I'm still not happy about guys like Ebden and Rosol who will be top 100 the rest of the season.

Hopefully we do not have to wait that long for your maiden ACC title.

The Top 100 thread

Here's where we can discuss new additions, re-entries, and falls from the top 100. It'll be mainly focusing on the lower half rather than the top ATP players.

If a player's name is in green, then it means he's a new entrant.

You are entitled to whinge about players to your heart's content here. No Big 4 talk though. :p

Provided I've got spare time then it'll be updated every week.

Week starting 31st October:

OUT:

Kukushkin (St. Petersburg W not defended) - to #113
Haider-Maurer (Vienna F not defended) - to #128

IN (as things stand):

Stebe to #98
K. Beck to #99

Re: The Top 100 thread

Lorenzi? As if

There is a chance Stebe can attain his first ever top 100 spot this week but he's going to need some help from others. But he still should finish top 100 as he only needs a few wins to clinch it.

The majority of the guys I wanted out of the top 100 are on the verge of being out or are out already, hopefully they are replaced by good players.

You can hope all you want, but Kamke won't be out of the top 100 for long.

Re: Mikhail Kukushkin: Provisionally ranked #113.

Kamke is a joke. His choke to Nieminen was as embarrassing as it gets. He has a poor mentality and lacks one real weapon. 55 points off next week, out of top 100, I can't wait!

Re: Mikhail Kukushkin: Provisionally ranked #113.

He was playing very decent tennis last year at the same period, I don't get why he has totally fallen since his title.
He was playing above his true ability, which is around 120-130. He got exposed, players weren't taking him as a joke anymore. After you win a title, you get a target on your back and actually play to win against you. And he can't handle ATP competition. Simply not a good enough player.

Re: Mikhail Kukushkin: Provisionally ranked #113.

He's got absolutely nothing to defend till Miami next year though, so a couple of wins in Challengers and he'll be back in the top 100.
