I haven't seen these.

There are some really crap movies on this list and some really good ones that aren't listed. Tootsie, Anatomy of a Murder and Kramer v. Kramer come to mind. They are better than some on this list.

Before Sunset??? Isn't that a horrible movie?

Oh yeah! Those are good ones. Also City of God I think is a great movie. Actually most of Igmar Johansson's movies should be on the list... I think Franny and Alexander is one of his lesser movies.

Was In the Heat of the Night on the list? That's a very good movie and has historical significance.

Agree starry, City of God is a great film.

Ingmar Bergman has quite a few classics: Fanny & Alexander, Wild Strawberries, The Seventh Seal, Persona. Awesome director.

I haven't seen In the Heat of the Night but I'd like to.

All righty, Mulholland Dr.

First of all, I really liked it. Especially the first 2/3 of the movie; after that it took a sharp left turn and I got kind of confused :p Still good, though.

The weirdness of the movie was set up really well by that odd opening jitterbug scene, followed by the car crash (if any of you ever drive like that, I will kill you myself :p) and the eerie music.

I thought the actresses that played Rita and Betty were both very good, although I was already  at Betty's '50s niceness/cheesiness when she was saying goodbye to that old couple at the airport :p The landlady at the apartments kind of reminded me of Liza Minelli  :p

Okay, onto the confusing stuff: Wtf was up with the guy in the restaurant that had that dream, then went outside and got frightened to death by that nasty creepy homeless dude? Who was the paralyzed man that seemed to be pulling the strings re: the movie, and why was he doing it? Who was hallucinating the Betty/Rita scenario, Diane or Camilla? Or was Diana/Camilla the hallucination? Are they both dead?

I have no idea what really happened, but I still enjoyed it :p Very, very strange movie.

ETA: I need another rec, Beebs :p and anyone have any thoughts about the next movie we should watch?

Seriously, you thought it was violent? *thinks* I guess so, but even the fighting was cheesy. I've seen that movie (and read the book) dozens of times, and it just cracks me up :p I love the ROUSs :p

Sorry you didn't like it though
