2000-2009

Federer__15 slams + 6 finals + 3 semis + 16 masters + 4 wtf = 35 big titles (titles 61)

2010-2019

Djokovic 15 slams + 8 finals + 6 semis + 29 masters + 4 wtf = 48 big titles (titles 61)
Nadal___ 13 slams + 6 finals + 3 semis + 20 masters + 0 wtf = 33 big titles (titles 48)
Federer__ 5 slams + 5 finals + 11 semis +12 masters + 2 wtf = 19 big titles (titles 42)

Djokovic has won those 48 big titles in the last nine seasons, winning zero in 2010 and 2017.

Ex-goats:

Borg in his career (nine seasons):
11 slams + 5 finals + 1 semis + 15 masters + 2 wtf = 28 big titles (titles 64)

Sampras in his last ten seasons and career:
13 slams + 3 finals + 4 semis + 10 masters + 4 wtf = 27 big titles (titles 51)
14 slams + 4 finals + 5 semis + 11 masters + 5 wtf = 30 big titles (titles 64)

2010's Nadal is closer to 2000's Federer than to 2010's Djokovic, though.

Nadal___ 13 slams + 6 finals + 3 semis + 20 masters + 0 wtf = 33 big titles (titles 48)

So, Decadovic took over the "best open era decade" record from Decaderer, let's see what Decadipas, Decadassime, Decadinner & co. can do in that regard.

I don't think they will come even close to Fedalovic, but then again, after 2010, Djokovic was still a "one slam wonder" in the Fedal-fandom eyes, with about close-to-zero chance of surpassing Goaterer's (& Embroiderer' golden 15, sorry Andy & Pete) decade.

Well deserved, well done champ!

Novak did everything perfectly to get it. Now, as a 32-year tennis player, we can only be happy having him playing any tournament.

"Player of the decade" didn't win even the single Olympic medal in the 10s, let alone gold which is mandatory. He still achieved much more than Murray The Olympic King at slams and masters, so I guess he did deserve this award regardless, but his award remains highly asterisked.

Federers decade slam winners: Federer 15; Nadal 6; Agassi 3; Safin 2; Hewitt 2; Sampras 2; Kuerten 2; Ivanisevic 1; Johansson 1; Ferrero 1; Roddick 1, Albert Costa 1; Gaudio 1; Djokovic 1; Del Potro 1

Djokovics decade slam winners: Djokovic 15; Nadal 13; Federer 5; Murray 3; Wawrinka 3; Cilic 1.

The difference is that while Federer overcame a higher number of champions, he faced them for a short period of time or either did not face them almost never....like aging Goran, Sampras, Kuerten or Costa....he clashed for like 3 years (2003-2005) with Agassi....he overcame his generation, which also did not lasted long (Safin, Hewitt, Nalbandian, Ferrero, Roddick) and then he clashed with the new generation (Nadal, Djokovic, Murray, Berdych, Cilic, etc).

On the other hand, Djokovic overcame stablished champions for a longest period of time, like prime Nadal (Djokovic won more slams, masters, wtf, overall titles and head to head during the decade against him), overcame an still absolutly competitive federer (10 time slam finalist and winner of 5), a prime Andy Murray, a prime wawrinka (2013-2017 was a beast), a prime cilic, 4 seasons of a healthy del potro, prime ferrer, and the prime years of the likes of Tsonga, Berdych, Nishikori.
To me, the fact that Djokovic won the same amount of titles (61), amount of slams (15) amount of WTF (4) as Federed, and also won more masters 1000 and finished 5 times as year end number 1 put him above the Federers decade but also, to me , is the best 10 years period ever produced by a tennis player.

well earned, a tough as nails champion!

Well, obviously there's no doubt that the player with the most Slams in a decade is the player of the decade. Hence it's completely deserved and quite logical to call him the best player of this time span, Djokovic deserved that.

As for all time, phew, damn, that's close to a religious question.

Tough to argue against his statistics. Dominant and consistent across the board. His transformation as Federer has himself said has been monstrous.

It's hurt my man Kei on big occasions but at least I know he came short against a stalwart who gives it tough to Federer and Nadal.

ACC is over, so you could as well just cut out the pathetic kei-botting?
