it would be a complete travesty to make thiem play four days in a row against a very well rested opponent, who only played in two of those four days.

Did you see the weather forecast for monday? Plenty of rain.

I suggest just handing over Nadal the trophy and get that nightmare of a tournament over with.

IMO, seeing Djokovic may have pushed the suspension yesterday, and the fact that Domi seemed to disagree, if he wins it should be tomorrow. Assuming Domi didn't agree to that, if he wins, they should move it to Monday seeing he was willing to continue playing more yesterday, whatever result it would've been.

Stop whining... both Djoko and his fans have really shown how desperate they are. There was plenty of time to complete the match yesterday, so why did the players agree not to continue, if the organizers are to be trusted? And I don't trust them, considering what's happened this year.

If people would have listened to me for the last couple of days, I kept saying Fri/Sun for the women and Sat/Mon for the men.

yeah, i mean, iknew rafa would win as soon as i saw his super easy laughable draw, but with not even one match interrupted or delayed..luckiest player of all time, confirmed

Inadverently agreed. The match would have concluded yesterday if not for Pushak's shenanigans, it's going to end up with the same result today, there's no reason for Thiem to suffer because of Pushak's dirty tricks.

You do know this is RG? They would rather schedule the men's final at 6am than postponing it.

But yeah, this year's FO is definitely not an ad for tennis as a well-organised global sport.

To be fair, it's not Nadal's fault. He'd be the favourite anyway.

Stop spewing nonsense. Rafa played a 5 hour SF vs Dimitrov in AO 2017, then played Federer with one less day of rest. Djokovic and Thiem didn't even play a grueling match. Some people...

Match could have finished yesterday or at the very least gotten enough play in to avoid this rain. I’ve yet to hear Thiem’s camp clearly say they wanted to continue so at this point I’d say both deserve a Sunday final.

no, all matches of the tournament were suspended, it was an organizational decision, players are not at fault. stop spewing shit

Can I vote for you to replace the entire RG scheduling committee? Your idea may not be ideal for the tournament or players, but this would have been a much better solution than what we have witnessed so far.

The problem with RG is that they don't feel the need to make decisions in a timely manner. Best example is the scheduling of too many matches on the same court knowing they are not going to finish them like Wawrinka-Tsitsipas. In addition, they really need to use the first Sunday more, but they sort of refuse to ditch the original tournament schedule.

Reports saying they desperately wanted to continue.
Has something more definitive been reported since yesterday? All I saw was one tweet and a lot of those ended up contradicting one another.
