how will the americans fare at roland garros this year? you will recall that all 9 who entered last year, managed to go up in flames in the very first round.

the great andy roddick was one of them. he got donkey kicked by igor andreev. we all remember that match. igor must have hit 10000 forehand winners past dazed and confused roddick.

another notable american, the great james blake, got dusted by dr ivo who has a nasty habit of serving from the clouds.

the question for the board: can we expect the americans to do better this year, how about the great andy roddick--the resurging andy roddick, that is? can he translate some of his success on hard courts to clay? will the americans make any kind of headway at roland garros this year or once again be the laughing stock of the planet?

finally, does the road to the finals and ultimately the title goes through the Clay Monster?

Roddick has already decided to concentrate on Wimbledon. It makes sense. Fed's done, Nadal and Djokovic are beatable (proven in Dubai), others are grass court clowns/mental midgets.
Blake, Sam, Ginepri, Fish have no chance beyond the 2nd round.
